Recognising Excellence in the Arts
This year’s Awards received 77 submissions across 38 categories. A total of 41 productions made it to the final nomination list, covering the four key genres, theatre, music, dance, and musical theatre. Categories include Best Director, Best Choreographer, Best Featured/Lead Performer, Best Group Performance, and more.
Each nominated work was evaluated by a panel of judges comprising of experienced arts professionals and practitioners.
Investing in Future Talent
In addition to the Awards night, the BCAA has introduced youth-focused initiatives to encourage future participation in the arts. These include a BCAA University Tour, bringing nominated artists and directors into Malaysian universities to conduct talks and workshops. The programme aims to inspire young creatives and provide them with real-world insights into the performing arts industry.
Public sharing sessions will also take place across key locations in the Klang Valley, offering Malaysians a chance to engage directly with this year’s nominees.
